In Summer 2010, YCP was engaged in a national survey conducted by Royal Holloway School of Management. Led by Dr Fiona Moore, lecturer in International Human Resources Management, the survey aims to investigate the use of hybrid ethnic identities for knowledge management among Chinese professionals in the UK. YCP is pleased that the survey values the importance and treasurable skills of Chinese professionals in Scotland to the research.
This project will form a pilot for longitudinal study of Chinese hybrid managers around the world and their knowledge management activities, by trailing the methods and resources needed and identifying areas for further study.
This study will lead to innovations in professional practice as well as improving the fields of business studies, anthropology, and migration studies and taking the work of Fiona in new directions, through combining an anthropological approach to identity with a focus on of the role of cultural hybrid managers in global knowledge management.
